Gender-responsive Policies to Support Women Start-ups to Make a Difference in the World

The 2019 Social Enterprise Promotion Act in Thailand is a significant step towards fostering self-reliance and sustainability. This study analyzes data from 2,000 respondents to explore factors like SDG awareness, digital technology adoption, and societal views influencing social enterprise initiation. Gender differences emerge, with males motivated by extrinsic factors like power and recognition, while females are driven by intrinsic, community-oriented motivations. The findings emphasize the need for gender-sensitive policies and programs to promote social entrepreneurship. Tailored support could accelerate the growth of impactful start-ups in Thailand and globally.
